Capsule Recap

This was my 4th participation in Jane's (The Small Fabric of My Life)

 wardrobe capsule and it was totally different from

the ones done before.

What made it different ?

First of all it was supposed to be 10 items in 5 days and 

I only worked with SIX (including shoes) !

Second, it was a summery capsule - it's usually work.

Third it was a pretty much green-blue palette and I go for more neutrals.

One bag, one pair of earrings and one ring sealed the deal.

In case you were not around, this is how I worked it ...

I wore the dress 3 times: once with a cardigan, 

then on its own and later on as a skirt.

One of the tops I wore twice, one as a regular top and 

then I hid one of the sleeves as turned it into a one shoulder :)

The kimono cardigan was worn twice: once tied at the back 

and once tied at the front.

Wore the blue trousers twice and the shoes 

and bag every single day.

Wardrobe Challenge Re-CAP !

This is 2011's first wardrobe capsule,

As I have said, I really enjoy doing it because it's short term

and it is very, very simple.

The capsule may contain max: 10 items + 5 accessories.

Without realizing it, I kept my color palette very basic, adhering to 

browns and blacks, 

just like Jane !

Wardrobe Challenge Friday

Today is the last day of Jane's Wardrobe Capsule Challenge !

I will certainly be doing a recap post.

Nails were inspired by Vena Cava's Spring 2011 runway show

Anyways, last night I went with a friend to a stand up comedy act.

It was so horribly boring I laughed twice in 30 minutes, then I

just looked at my friend and said "Run for the door".

Seriously a not funny stand up comedy act ?

Thank God the tickets were free.

Inspired in the Midst of the Challenge

This week I am participating in 

Jane's Wardrobe Capsule Challenge.

The basic idea is

to plan your work week while wearing only:

10 items in 5 days (this includes shoes)

and you also get 5 accessories.

Today's simple assemble was actually an inspiration

from an outfit I saw on another blog.

Here is where my inspiration came from:

I thought she looked perfect !

Perfect meaning: 

Pretty, comfortable, balanced and ready for anything.

This is my take on it:

Although I prefer Penny's look to mine, 

I have to say that I feel comfortable and am tempted 

to try it again with pieces

that look more like hers - 

certainly will give it another shot 

as I am done with the challenge!

Black and Brown

I know you can't see a lot of detail here.

But, I am wearing a black turtleneck and a black skirt.

My tights and shoes are brown.

Today's outfit is part of Jane's Wardrobe Capsule which 

consists using 10 items to create looks for 5 days.

The 10 items include shoes AND you 

have 5 accessories that you can thrown in...

Certainly tights and underwear are not accounted for.

I have participated in this challenge several times.

It's fun, short term and believe it or not

has helped me downsize my packing for business trips.

Wardrobe Capsule Day 2

Today is day 2 of Jane's Wardrobe Capsule Challenge 

and

THIS IS my 700th POST !

I thought I would have something really

exciting to say after that introduction,

but I don't, so I'll just smile.

Going back on the Wardrobe Challenge subject,

I was finally able to put my set together last night.

I did not find it very creative but I followed the

rules.... so you can tell me what you think.

Little Crazy

It's been a crazy little day.

Starting off with me dropping off the dogs before work  - to get groomed, 

to dropping my grandmother at her doctor's appointment...

and getting on time to work.

Then running out at lunch time to pick the dogs up and

drive them home and then go back to the office to tons

of unanswered emails.

Yes, I have had better days.

So, on a totally different subject, today begins

Jane's Wardrobe Capsule Challenge !!!

To sum it up for you, it's

10 garments (includes shoes ) + 5 accessories, creating 

outfits for 5 days...

This is my 3rd or 4th time around and although I have 

not really figured out my week's outfits with my 10 permitted items

I am sooo ready !

Summer Wardrobe Capsule WRAP UP

I enjoyed the Summer Wardrobe Capsule as I had not done an ALL DRESS week for sometime now.

Even though the Challenge allowed for the use of many bags, 

I stuck to one: my padded Marc Jacobs wanna be bag 

and I also found myself reaching for the same pairs of shoes, over and over.

I also visited all (all whose blog links I could find) of the other great ladies that participated in the challenge.

I came across great blogs that I had no idea were out there !

Which now, of course are in my reader.
SO, whats the next challenge ?
I am all hyped up!

DAY 5: Summer Wardrobe Capsule

Five days, five items of clothing, 

unlimited amount of accessories...

 that's all the Summer Wardrobe Capsule is all about !

Here is mine:

One item: Anne Klein brown dress

Accessories:

- Turquoise-green shell, wood and bead necklace and earring set

- Brown leather belt with turquoise and shell buckle

- Padded bag Marc Jacobs wanna be

- Brown suede peep toe flats Kenneth Cole Reaction

My H usually insists on"Less is more" and 

makes remarks like "You look like a tree" or

"Did you miss the school bus?" on my every day wear.

Today, for a nice change he said "Only today more is more"

this, after I put on the belt and necklace.

I am so happy it's Friday !

DAY 4: Summer Wardrobe Capsule

The Summer Wardrobe Capsule consists of wearing 5 pieces of clothing and unlimited amount of shoes and accessories.

This is my day 4, where inspiration came from a J.Crew catalogue (Fall 2009?)

Hahaha, I know what YOU are thinking... that I would starve if I had to live off of being a model!

It's ok, I think the same way.

Of course the boots were just for the picture, I actually looked like the below pictures before walking out the door.

Boots in hot weather can be a torture, I only wear these when I travel.

These are the responsible little ones who make sure I leave home with plenty of of white hairs.

DAY 3: Summer Wardrobe Capsule

Yes, it's already the third day of Jane's Summer Wardrobe Capsule where we get to wear 5 garments in one week and all the accessories and shoes you want.

I am keeping it simple: just dresses.

My one garment:

Vintage (no label) polyester bright orange dress

Last time you saw this dress HERE, the sleeves were driving me insane as they were too long.

Since then, I had it altered and now the sleeves fit marvelously.

I am thinking about shortening it a little.

My accessories:

- Flowered wedges by Qupid

- Green, brown and yellow wooden bracelets

- Wood beads earrings

- Padded bag Marc Jacobs wanna be

- Brown belt
