Jeans Unionbay - Red sweatshirt vintage Benetton - Emerald green velvet loafers Zara - Grey vintage bag Salvatore Ferragamo |
The Benetton brand name reminds me of high school. I would frequently walk into their flagship store, which always seemed to be on its last days sales, yet it never closed.. Well it did, but like 15 years later ;)
Not only did I love their minimalistic windows, the perfumes, the ads and colours but also the layering which of course I never dared to copy in our less hot and super hot weather. A thrift find, this is one of two Benetton garments in my closet. The other is a striped t-shirt I bought when I was fifteen years old and that I still hold on to, yet its never worn outside of my home because its literally falling apart.
Lately, I have been going for this sweatshirt for visits to cold hospital rooms, chilly movie theatres and my cold office on a flu day...which happens to be today.

Cute, casual, and colorful! I remember the Benetton ads from my teen magazines. I always loved the colorful spreads, funky prepster vibe, and free-spirited attitude. I wonder what we'll think when we look back on today's ad campaigns!

We used to have a Benetton store here (it was really small) - I remember it in the 80s. All the preppy kids had the sweatshirts. I still find Benetton stuff in the thrift stores, mostly 80s and some early 90s. I actually still have a bottle of Benetton's "Tribu" perfume from the early 90s, still in the box to keep it out of the light and make it last longer. I use it once in a while - it smells like rose tea on me. :)
I've been in Benetton stores when traveling and loved the preppy clothing. Love that bright sweatshirt of yours!

Well that seems like a great top to wear as you look wonderful in it - I'd never know you had the flu! I hope you are feeling better and you get over it soon!

Your relationship with Benetton sounds like mine with the Gap, and the sadness I felt when the Gap in my town finally closed, and how I held on to this thin, light grey Gap hoodie I got in 8th grade until it was literally in pieces.
You look so great in red!
I remember benetton stores too. It is sad to see what comes and goes in life!
¡Hola, Lorena! A mí Benetton también me recuerda bastante a mi etapa de instituto... Aunque la sigo teniendo muy presente, en especial una de sus colonias que me encanta y uso casi diariamente!
Un saludo,

I remember the wonderfully diverse Benetton ads when I was growing up. They made me actually want to shop at the store but we did not have one were I lived.
