December 2012 Closet Edits

December is a good month to edit.

Actually any month is, but here's 

what did not make it to 2013.

Worn twice.

Once in Paris to the Lido and the other in Albuquerque.

It is tight. I don't feel is does anything for me.

I bought it because it has a % of wool in the fabric

and it works for cooler weather but, I just felt uncomfortable in it.

 The polka dot dress from Retro also had to go.

There was no place in my closet for it, as it was ill fitting.

A gift from mom. 

Worn very few times in almost 4 years.

This orange lace top from Forever 21 lasted ONE year in my closet.

Purchased in November 2011 for 5.99 USD, worn 5 times.

It quickly stretched out and the elastic woven in the fabric could be seen.

Tight. Color fading. 

My Michelle brown capris, pedal pushers... 

They were a gift from mom.

They are low cut and even thought I have worn them 4 or 5 times 

over the last 3 years, I have never adored how the fit or look.

This Jeanstar mini skirt was a hand me down.

Wore it once and decided to let it go.

Just not working for me.

Silver belt.

Not worn much.

Scraped, broke and I already got a replacement for it :)

Black flat sandals purchased in Peru, Platanitos brand.

I did not wear them that much.

They hurt when I wore them. The stained my feet :( 

and also things tied to my ankles make me look shorter.

Beige sunglasses. No brand. Partially broken.

10 items for December.

And that's it for 2012.

A Review: My 2012 Closet Edits

Closet edits are all about letting go.

This year I let go of about 122 pieces.

During 2011 I gave away about 66 pieces.

Meaning I more than doubled my edits.

Here's what left my closet this year...

and there are absolutely no regrets :)

November Closet Edits

I cannot believe it's already the end of November...

Here are my closet edits:

Black studded tank top by Casual brand.

Worn once. Too short.

Charlotte Russe blue and brown top.

The fabric thinned out. Wore it very little. Gave me no shape.

Looked awful.

Zara Basic black and white top.  It was thrifted, but it was too big - I never
wore it, so I am passing it on to a friend who will make good use of it.
I was kind of surprised this top was actually made in SPain ! 

Tommy Hilfiger brown top, it's got a pronounced cleavage.

It's too snug for me to wear anything underneath it... so I am passing it on.

My brown shirt or dress by Punto.com

It does not get much wear.. maybe 3 times in 3 years, just not worth keeping.

Let's Play on My Mood Swing red t shirt, it shrunk or I got bigger.

Orange Bella USA top, surprisingly made in USA.

It had fuzzies on the front and it kept riding up my back.

These Voyou jeans had their own post written a few weeks back:

they are low cut, I have to be pulling them up...  and just have to go.

Cherry earrings and blue cord necklace.

Almost never wear them and after wearing the cherry earring recently, I decided they were not my style.

Silver Tours earrings.

They are really small, feel a little child like in them.

Don't get me wrong I love the bear and have other things from them

but I decided to pass these on to my niece.

This adds to ... 119 pieces YTD!

Octo edits

In my desire to downsize my shoe collection, I have been

trying to wear shoes I seldom use in order to convince 

myself that they have to go.

I really need the space.

This is the case of my Karen Scott animal print vintage mules.

I have had them for over a year but I just never, ever wear them,

I wore them ONCE and they hurt my feet.

The same goes for my Bamboo multi colored flats.

I never wear them because they are uncomfortable, the back

is too high for my heel and because they are never worn

they began to deteriorate in my closet... humidity is a pain.

Then there was this pair of espadrilles purchased in Barcelona

about 4 years ago. Never worn. Needless to say I passed them on.

Floré beige shorts.

Bought about 3 years ago.

Too low cut.

I have been a little uncertain about these for a while and the fact

that the new seamstress called me fat in them made 

me want to part with these.

Black Charter Club trousers. I loved them and wore them a lot at least 18 times in the past 3 years - as per my blog record ;)
Now, they are faded.

Zenana Outfitters black and white striped top.

About 3 years old, worn max 5 times.

Never quite loved how it looked.

No Boundaries white jacket.

It's a beautiful bright white, but not quite flattering...

only worn 4 times in the past 3 years.

I decided to let it go.

Here's another white item from the closet, a white Milky Way Jeans t shirt.
Too tight, yellowed underarms- enough said.

They are are all gone.

108 have found a new home YTD.

Editing

Monthly closet edits have come recurrent posts.

In September my closet edits, include:

Take Out fuchsia vest. Almost never worn. Does not fit well.

Black Sanrio Hello Kitty t shirt - so faded!

Black Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt - faded too.

Grey tshirt Stupid Factory by David & Goliath.

Bit snug, almost never worn - I still have "mood swings".

Black H&M trousers - too big and they had a hole in them !

H&M Black straw bag 

I bought this in H&M NYC about 5 years ago.

Wore it about 6 times. Stored it and now

I have come back to a bag that is just falling

apart. I hate to see it go.

My silver sandals from Payless Shoes.

Scuffed.

Yellow clutch Suzy Lee.

I love this clutch, I have received so many compliments for it...

However it is another one of my bags that is falling apart, bit by bit.

I have worn it at least a dozen times in this blog.

I tell myself that I will give it one last wear, that no one will

tell that it's in bad shape... that is until this weeked I took it

to an event and set it on the table, right next to everyone else's bag...

Yes, I came home and immediately put it on the give away bag.
