My 2020 edits and purchases in review

If you have been around you might recall that at the end of every year for at least the last 7 years I have been doing a balance on what I have bought during the year vs what has left the closet.

Last year there were so many things going on I never finished it. However this year goes like this:

My top 3 purchases were dresses, 17 of them ! Followed by 13 tops/blouses and 12 trousers, which by the way added up to 617.14 USD total spent in 2020. Note that some items that went in the closet were gifts.

When it comes to edits, well, my most edited item were tops/blouses, actually 14 of them, followed by 10 dresses and 10 necklaces. 

I got 100 new items in my closet and 87 were edited.  

December Additions

Unlike other years during the month of December I edited more than I purchased,

which I think is very positive.

 

First in is this Salvatore Ferragamo turquoise belt, a gift from a friend and this 

gold tone rubber handbag, a gift from my husband's sister.

My purchase was this red leather satchel hand bag (not pictured) for 15.00 USD, 

which you may have seen in recent posts.

September news

 Gosh, I am so behind in my blog, in my work, in my IG page, in my life. While I figure out the rest of it all, here are my closet additions in September or so. 

 

  

I will start with these printed boho pants and vintage flower print skirt from Madrid also a pair of colorful flower print trousers Camila and a black evening dress. 

All 4 came from a friend's closet edit, so they were free. 

Maska vintage Italian dress for 1.07 USD.

A pair of vntage Chanel Mary Jane shoes that I flipped without wearing them as they were too big, 

they were 10.00 USD.

Bruno Cucinelli khaki skirt for 3.50 USD

 

Brown vintage polka dot dress with matching belt Betsy's Things for 10.00 USD, I am not sure if I am keeping it.

Talbots scalloped hem bird print skirt for 9.00 USD and J. Crew striped skirt for 1.07 USD.

 

Red sleeveless dress from Universal Thread for 7.00 USD, blue dress Forever 21 for 1.07 USD.

 

Pink patent peep toe flats, no brand for 5.00 USD and a pair of blue jeans from Zara for 15.00 USD.

 

 

Total 62.71 USD

New in August

 I took time to document what went in the closet in August or Augustish, because it may be been from a month earlier. Here is what is new to me.

Pink velvet necklace Vera Sielfeld 8.00 USD, I cannot tell you how much I love this piece, I got it from a second hand shop.

A a pair of Burberry NWT trousers, will have it hemmed soon.

 

Black Bermuda linen shorts were free, 70's white, pink and blue polka dot polyester shirt 10.00 USD

 

A white button down shirt Current Air for 15.00 USD, black long sleeve dress Amzplus for 7.00 USD

 

Grey Anself pocket dress for 6.00 USD and Adidas visor vintage for free

 

Black leather vintage in pristine condition Paloma Picasso 32.00 USD - 

Red Valentino velvet rose headband 6.00 USD.

A total of 85.00 USD.

New in the closet for July

We start off my July purchases with a vintage necklace from the 50's by Sarah Coventry. I was originally going to sell it but I am keeping it for now, it was 14.00 USD.

A pair of sunglasses by Francois Pinton 90.00 USD, a purchase I am regreting.*

June Additions

Stores are closed, so you may wonder how am I getting items into my closet? Well, let me give you an example, this red silk kaftan made in India was a gift from a girl I buy antiques and vintage items from, so it was free.

The burgundy dress was a super find, its Maison Martin Margiela new with tags! that I picked up for about 10.00 USD prior to this pandemic craziness. I had considered selling it, but when I tried it on I changed my mind.

My May closet additions have items from here and there, meaning some were purchased to be sold but I have now chosen to keep them, others were purchased via local Instagram shops.

April Additions

You are probably wondering how did I manage to shop in April when all brick and mortar and on line stores have been closed for over two months. How could I possibly shop when only supermarkets and pharmacies are open. Well, happens I had purchased several items prior to all of this and was going to offer them on my IG online shop but after washing and trying several of them on, I thought I'd keep them.

Light pink vintage Liz Claiborne blouse and bright green vintage blouse with black buttons in the neckline Jo Hardin.

Another vintage beauty is this off white blouse from New Editions.

All 3 blouses were 1.07 USD each.

A pair of trousers JH Collection vintage, that actually FIT before going into quarantine for about 3.00 USD.

 

Tweed shift dress made in Italy Carla Loti.

Also a military green color vest with pleated pockets made in France by Bestini.

A pair of light yellow shorts by Sandro. 

Sequin vintage off white top by Laurence Kazar New York for about 10.00 USD.
