Saturday Class

So I signed up for a class on Saturday.

I was sitting in class by 7:00 am.

Flea Market Coming Up

There's a flea market coming up where  

I'm gonna be participating in as a vendor.

It's my second one.

I am looking forward to the possibility of selling some of my clothes.

Currently, I am in the process of cleaning the closet and deciding

what to sell.

The bright house

As I was driving around last week I came 

across this house.

Its located a few streets down from where I live.
Its originally a 1930s neighbourhood with unique homes
that are being torn down almost weekly.

This one in particular has been recently painted with this

bright snake decor, which gives me hopes that it will

be around for a little while longer.

The Oxford

Today we decided to take a walk.

Nothing far from home, just a few blocks to 

where the Oxford School is.

It was marvelous as the city was empty because it seems like

everyone left to the beach for the long weekend.

I was quite happy to have stayed in the city for the weekend.

Because, yes I am the type who enjoys a calm, quiet place.

They're just so hard to come by these days !

Moving

Over the weekend a friend moved to her new house.

When we called her to see how she was doing, we realised that she

was on the verge of having a panic attack due to the large amount 

of boxes sitting in there living room.

So we drove over, helped unpack, find a place for things, 

drilled a few holes…

A few hours later, the place looked like a home.

Front yard

This is my front yard.

I have not taken many outfit post pictures here,

so here's one for a change.

The grass is really dry as we're in the middle of summer 

here and also because we do not have a gardener.

We become the gardeners on weekends.

Rake the leaves, weed the planted areas, carry logs around,

collect seeds, pick cilantro, tarragon and hope that the cricket left some

spinach for me, oh and harvest any fruits in season…

One thing I always do is check up on my pink flower oak.
It's the one on the right on the above picture.

I planted it here about a year ago and it has grown almost twice my height !

Jeans & tassel

It's a funny thing.

The closet if full of clothes and the only thing I thought would 

look good today was a a black t-shirt, a pair of jeans

and a tassel belt.

The Fountain

As I walked for breakfast this morning I

came across the fountain.

The fountain is special for me as when I was little

I would be brought here at night.

The fountains were new back then and

they would light up in pinks and blues.

I would run around them and play.

Now, the fountains are not as graceful as they use to be, but at least they are still there.

5 Churches

Last Saturday I wanted to take the 5 churches tour,
but I got up too late.

So this Saturday, I got up really early, picked up a friend and

headed out to the old part of the city to take the tour.

We made it on time - well the "old area" is only 10 minutes away.

St. Francis of Asis

The main idea of the tour is to see in what shape the churches are.

Which is really bad, as you can see there is mold on the walls

and water on the floor of St Francis of Asis.

Most of them are basically falling apart, with no government support.

In some of them, work is already in progress.

The private sector is raising funds to restore the churches but, there is so much

work to do.

The tours are free of charge and aim to create awareness.

It was mostly walking and it took over 3 hours.

Our Lady of Mercy

Luckily, we had the most amazing day.

The sun was out...

and we had the bluest of skies.

Old town

I had planned to get up really early on Saturday.

Drop the dogs off for the regular bath and head 

out to the old town for the tour of the 4 churches.

Happens I got up at the time the tour started :/

However I did drive to the colonial old town, got there an hour late,

hoping to meet the tour and at least get to see one of the churches.

I walked around but could not locate the tour.

However I did stop at the  main plaza for some pictures.

Maybe I'll catch the tour next time...

The heart

By now you probably know that when I am 

over the heels busy and cannot think of something 

interesting to say I'll share with you a quote I like :)

Today is one of those days.

"The human heart feels things the eyes cannot see and knows 

what the mind cannot understand."

To this quote, I can only add that some 

hearts are tricky and cannot be trusted.

Bling top

When I saw my white long sleeve top with

sparkly cuffs it automatically reminded me of

the Sparkle feature in the April 2013 InStyle issue.

While I am certain it can be used for a night out, I decided to wear it the

simplest way possible: jeans and flats.

Which worked just fine for my day, which basically

consisted of assisting to 3 birthdays.

Hello Kitty watch

Yes, I know what you are thinking:

3 presents.

On a trunk

The spot I usually take my pictures at

has been flooded with equipment

for repairs being done in my building.

Artisan fair

I went to an artisan fair on Saturday.

I was in the conventions center where it was held for hours.

I admired all of the handcrafts exhibited which included shoes, clothes,
plants, textiles, jewellery..
I ate so many goodies including red velvet home made cupcakes.
Finally, believe it or not I did not buy anything for myself, 
however I did pick up a present for a 
friend from a local bag designer.

Sunday best

Sunday best is a term usually
associated to being nicely dressed
and usually fit for attending a religious service.

not attending a religious ceremony.

I am just wearing one dress two ways.

Sundays are never long enough.
