Closet Edits: December 2010

This chore is a never ending one: closet editing.
I know of people who do not edit their closet constantly like me.
Instead one morning they pick their closet and fill up 6 big
black trash bags with shoes, bags and clothes.
I am not like that.
I like wearing a garment one last time and giving it a chance.
This time I got rid of two tops which were not doing me any favors.
I also got rid of a bag.
I was kind of upset about the bag, it had been a present but had
been stored long ago and also unworn for so long that
the bag just started to fall apart.

Another thing I parted with was a pair of black shorts.
I usually referred to them as my FAT SHORTS because
they were my saviors when I gained weight...

It was only 4 pieces this month !

Are you a hard core closet editor or are you like me ?

I am more of a clean-sweep closet editor, doing a whole season at once. But every month as I see you doing this, I think that your way is probably much better. I'm going to give it a try as one my New Years resolutions this year!

Once a year I'll edit. It's smart to review what you have because often we forget what's in the back of the closet. I've found some great clothes that way!

There is no rhyme or reason to my editing schedule. I'm glad you passed those shorts on to a friend, it is my favorite thing to do with clothes that don't work for me anymore.

I am the one filling up 6 bags and bringing them to Goodwill. I try to edit throughout the year but the bag just sits in my garage until I have enough to donate. Your way sounds much better. I will have to try it.

I tend to save up and then do a big closet purge (as soon as I'm off work after next week, I'll be doing a big clean out).

Good for you for cleaning out of things that aren't working for you!

I don't throw away any clothes. :D I call it hamsters syndrome. As a hamster stuffs his cheeks, I stuff my wardrobe. I wish you could come and edit my wardrobe while I'm not at home. I would probably sob for two weeks, but I would be definitely thankful when I'm done crying.
