Time: the best gift

Black window pane blazer Forever 21, a cooler version I'd love here  - Black trousers
Black vintage bag Croft & Barrow, identical by Coach here

Pearl necklace Tous, similar in gold here - Pearl and silver bracelet Tous, here see gold version
Black ankle flats Vince Camuto, similar here

As it tends to happen on holiday season, I usually don't have enough time to do all I would like to. I never finish buying all the presents on my the mental list. I never get to see and spend time with the people that are important. Even though I did not get to see everyone I wanted to see, I did manage to see those that needed to be seen. After seeing those few, wether it was twenty minutes or several hours,  I realised that the best gift for them and for me was time.

You make a very good point. The gift list sometimes feels endless, and half the time you might not even succeed in getting something they actually want. But in a society where we glorify 'busy' I think making time for people really does feel like the best gift.

Love your window pane blazer! I'd love to add more bright or printed blazers to my wardrobe this year, but I have so many already so I'm just trying to enjoy the ones I already have! :)

It's hard to get everything done on time at Christmas but I agree, it's the time spent together more than the presents that's the most important! Although if you ask my youngest, his favourite part was ripping all the wrapping paper, haha!

I have this problem every year and it seemed really magnified this year in particular because I got all obsessed with it being Eleanor's first Christmas and so we just had to do literally every single holiday related activity and social visit under the sun. And the funny thing, of course, is that it was all more for me than her because she's 6 months old and just doesn't know/care about stuff like that yet (heck, she would probably have been happier snuggling up with me and all her toys at home instead of being bustled around the city).

I feel like the holiday season can be so rushed! I think the best thing we did this year was to stay home for Christmas Eve and Christmas. It was so nice to spend time together as a family instead of driving all over!

You are so right, Lorena. Presents are just things - the best gift we can give is to make time for the people who matter to us. Hugs to you.

Love this blazer, and I laughed at you wearing your skirt the "wrong" way. I say, wear it however you like. Yes, I've put things on backwards, many times!

I love the blazer! So chic for work. Time is so important and I'm learning to prioritize better so I can do what I need to do or see who I need to see.
