The day I got rid of polos

A few weeks ago I put together a box of shirts to take to the consignment shop. About half of them were polo shirts. There were striped ones, bright pink ones and more conservative hues. I was not wearing them anymore so why hold on to them?
Years ago I would wear them a lot. In fact I wore them so much that I did a series of posts on how to wear a polo shirt to work. I did five looks: worn with a white skirt, denim skirt and blazer and even under a vest. The above pictures are from that series of posts that date to 2010.
What can I say, as it tends to happen, the moment I got rid of the polos I saw a huge campaign from Polo Ralph Lauren and how these were making a come back !
Luckily I think I left two or three in the back of the closet ;)

Are you a polo shirt wearer?

I love all the ideas you gave but no, I'm not a polo shirt girl. Creo que después de que salí de la escuela no los usé mas.

Moving on huh? No I am not a polo wearer. In fact I have never worn or owned a polo.

I have owned one polo shirt in my entire life, when I was in high school, in 1984. It was a bright marigold yellow. I thought it was awesome at the time. Polos feel too casual for me.

I remember that post!

haha yes - every time I get rid of something it comes back in a big way!

I used to wear polo shirts often, they were a casual Friday staple for me too for a while, but in the end I let most of them go as I couldn't really think of other ways to wear them! I have had a few work provided polo shirts I've had to wear at various times since, but being a majority male dominated industry the shirts never fit right so I only wore them when it was mandated, ha! I still keep them, mementos of different periods at work, but I haven't worn them in years.

I've never been much of a polo wearer - I think I had one or two in my closet a long time ago but I've just never been a big fan of the way they look on me.

The funny thing is I have 2 post scheduled for next week where we are wearing polo shirts!! I didn't have one last year when a reader suggested the item, so I had to pick one up at the thrift store!!
If we lived closer, I could have borrowed yours...LOL!!
XOXO

I think there was a brief period when I wore polo shirts. Actually, polo shirt. I had one, it was light blue. I know I loved it at the time, but it's been gone for many years now. I don't long for it back. I recently got one for my nephew, because a polo shirt on a three year old is something I can get behind.
