Sometime ago while attending a local flea market I came across an orange bubble necklace, as I picked it up I remembered my very own, which I am wearing today. At the moment I thought, "why would you want to get rid of such a nice piece ?" to which I replied in my head "probably because its no longer trending.."
Sometimes we let the surroundings choose for us. You don't want to get caught wearing something that would now be considered passé, because, well its just no longer "in style". While I do constantly edit my closet and the reasons are many, I have come to the conclusion that this reason is probably the one I use the least when evaluating if an item stays or not. What's your reason for eliminating a garment from your closet ?

I love that pretty turquoise pop against the striped dress! It compliments it beautifully!

You're right, we often let our surroundings choose for us. I used to have a bubble necklace in like every color! But now most of them have tarnished and aren't as cute. I love your cute dress today, stripes are great on you.

Such a pretty festival look! Love these pictures of you.

I tend to base my decisions very much on the emotive - for me it's really just a questions of how do I feel in a garment. Whether it's in style or even whether I look good in it are actually pretty secondary; if I don't feel happy or special or confident or comfortable then it goes into a pile and I periodically wear everything in that pile at least once more to confirm my initial assessment before I jettison something for good.

I agree, I don't usually get rid of things just because they're no longer trendy. I still have a bubble necklace too--I haven't worn it in a while, but I definitely did wear it even when it was no longer "cool". I love that striped dress, what a classic, but fun, piece!

There have been a few pieces I've gotten rid of as I didn't think they were trendy anymore (like all my skinny scarves) only for them to suddenly come back, so I tend not to use that as a deciding factor when evaluating what should stay or go, haha!

I had someone comment that my peplum tank was so different to see as "no one wears them anymore", but it's still a trend that's around so I'm glad I kept it because I like it, and not because of what someone else thought was "in".

Hope you are having a great week :)

I admit to being guilty of getting rid of things that are no longer considered trendy. I love the necklace on you. Such a pretty color!

Al igual que tu, el hecho de que un artículo no sea trendy es la última razón por la cual me deshago de una pieza. El hecho de que si me gusta como me queda o no y si me gusta la pieza en si tiene mucho mas peso!

I wish I had both my bubble necklaces here in the States because I would continue to wear them. I love them. Yours is striking against the pretty striped dress and I am glad you are still wearing it.
