Social Media and how I shop

Green cardigan America 525 similar - Navy trousers Jones New York similar - En Creme plaid top -
Burgundy flats French Soles, these I like better
Evil eye bracelets here, here and here  - "Love" ring, identical here and here similar here

The way we shop has changed. I know mine has, drastically. I cannot tell you if its better or worst. I can't tell you if I shop more as other things would have to be taken into consideration for it to be a valid statement. I would need previous statistics of my purchases before social media took over and other factors would be involved such as income, so I will not be going there.
However, of things I do differently is for example read product reviews and make an effort to write them, even more if the product sucks.
For months now I have not purchased my usual magazines and my "Inspired By" posts come mostly from Pinterest, other blogs and Instagram. In my life I don't want to say one has replaced the other, well, maybe a little, but nothing beats going through the pages making notes and leaving post its here and there for further on line research of anything I might be interested in.
If a garment in featured in an ad, the odds are I won't go for it, because I imagine everyone else will, so I stay away. If its featured in a blog and evidently a sponsored post, the same tends to happen unless I literally fall head over heels with it.
Believe it or not I can say that 90% of my purchases are still old school: brick and mortar and the remaining 10% is via Ebay, Instagram direct sales or Instagram sales driven. The last, meaning I saw it on Instagram and went directly to the shop, whenever that is possible.
Today I am sharing my last social media driven purchase: the evil eye bracelet bought last year previous to my current shopping ban.
What was yours ?

I don't really do brick and mortar stores much, so most of my shopping is online. Either I'm perusing a website and find something I like, or I saw a blogger wearing it on their site or IG. Sometimes it just gives me an idea -- like I see a nice lace piece, so I don't go for that exact lace piece, but something with lace detail in it.

Your evil eye bracelet is so cool. I love the pop of color in your outfit. I love this particular shade of green.

Fabulous green on you, Lorena. As you know, I rarely shop online (mostly Fluevogs, watching for the styles I like to go on sale, lol), and 95% is in brick & mortar stores. I really need to see and touch and try things on, plus I support my town's downtown and local merchants/charities. I don't buy the magazines anymore (once every so often) - I never read them, I just look at the pictures! I get more inspiration from looking at other bloggers...like you!

I'm more of an online shopper at the moment as it's too difficult getting the boys out to a store and trying things on! I bought something from Instagram just in December too, haha! I saw a dress on someone in my feed, thought it was nice, then saw a second person in that dress and thought it was even nicer. Then my sister called and said she was just leaving the store the dress was in....got her to go back and buy it for me, haha! Perfect storm! Often I am inspired by pieces I see (wanting to create something similar) but every now and then a piece online grabs me and I want that exact one!

Oh and I love the green cardi for some colour with your outfit! :)

I love your outfit, dear Lorena! It is so wonderful colourful! For me it is similar as for you and in the opposite to the past now I buy rarely magazines (in the past I bought often 10 - 12 magazines per week!) but get my inspirations from the internet :) I neither know if this is a good development ...

I'm the same when it comes to inspiration. I go straight to Pinterest these days. And my magazine pile has been pathetically depleted because of this. But when it comes to shopping, I'm all for online as opposed to going in store. Just much easier for me.

I know what you mean Lorena! The past years my shopping habits have changed so much, I only shop online at the moment. I believe the last item I bought was found on Instagram, a bamboo bag.
I love how sweet your smile is in these pictures and the evil eye bracelet of course.

Cheers to you darling!

My last purchase was the T.B.D. black heels. My the last purchases I made because I saw it on another blogger were a good portion of what I bought the last year - a black monogrammed tote, a furry/fleece vest, a bamboo handbag, and the list would go on if I'm really being honest with myself, blogging has been such a huge influence on what I've bought. I know that my shopping habits have changed dramatically because of it.

I think more & more people are relying on reviews! I know I do for beauty products. I think it is that way for all things now. I shop online, but it's because I have my go to stores. So I know them well.

Loving that green cardigan!
In Panama my shopping style is pretty traditional. Here in the US is all online. It is so easy to do so! I have to avoid a lot of pages and offers to not hurt my wallet!
