Price of Free

Printed silk blouse BCBG Max Azria - Black trousers - Block heels Breckelle's

Mini Salvatore Ferragamo tote bag - Vintage gold citrine ring

One of the things I enjoy doing while in stores is to look at labels. Flip the garment upside down and read anything and everything about it, yeah why not add a few google searches on the way.

Now imagine you do this, just prior to purchasing a beautiful beaded gown you are going to wear to a wedding, because you want to know if the item needs dry cleaning.... but, you find a label that says it was made by a child. Would you buy it ?

Sounds interesting, huh ? you can read more about it in this piece about the documentary "The Price of Free".

Yes the fashion industry (like many others including the make dominated tech sector) has a lot of dirty secrets.

I would not buy it if I knew that. However, if it was a second-hand gown, I would.

Sounds like a good documentary!
