My 2015 Closet Additions

I have to be brutally honest here.
I don't think I really needed to add anything
to my overflowing closet, but I did:
I spent a lot more than the previous years but
purchased less items and gave more thought
into purchases, also had more items tailored.
I got rid of 12 bags, but did they really need replacement?
The answer is NO, however the bags I did get,
were of better quality.

In total I added 107 items into my closet vs those
254 that were removed through my closet edits.
The fact that I removed so many garments was
a goal I had set for myself:
Remove 200 items from my closet. Accomplished!

Now when it came to staying within a budget, I failed miserably.
My yearly budget had been set at 1,500.00 USD.
However, the total spent this year was about 2,791.13 USD,
about 700.00 USD more than last year
and 1,200.00 USD over budget.

Wardrobe goals for next year ?
Downsize the closet, at least 200 more items.
Budget ? Keep it under 2,000.00 USD.

What are YOUR wardrobe goals for 2016 ?

December purchases

I have not been myself lately and it
showed in my December shopping.

It all began as I entered Red Valentino and set
my eyes on these pink glitter cherry motive flats,
on sale for 86.25 USD from a marked price of 403.00 USD.
I looked them up on line and these are from 2013, they
fell apart (literally) the day I wore them, so I took them back...
From the same store I also fell in love with these blue pumps.
Originally priced at 510.00 USD for sale in 109.14 USD.
Red Valentino grey slim trousers originally priced at 317.00 USD, on sale for 77.84 USD  and a pink sweater for 103.80 USD - down from 485.00 USD.
A blue, white and red dress for 172.50 USD (pending altering) -
priced originally at 806.00 USD and an orange one for
134.00 USD (pending altering) - 629.00 USD original price.
A blue dress for 155.15 USD (pending altering) down from 725.00 USD, probably from Fall 2014 sales.
Two jeans. One blue and one white also from Red Valentino.
Both need altering, white 66.35 USD - original price tag
of 310.00 USD (altering pending). The dark blue one for 78.11 USD
(original price tag of 365.00 USD)
Black skirt, 242.00 USD on sale for 51.80 USD,
needs some altering.
A black Impressions of California vintage blouse for 3.00 USD and
a thrifted one shoulder top from Elie Tahari 3.15 USD.
Also got some free goodies, like this jacket made in Italy from Pamela brand
and a Esprit pair of trousers.
A Metallic bag from Stella Rittwagen on sale from 380.00 USD, for 80.00 USD.
Finally a thrifted bag from Carolina Herrera for 100.00 USD.

December estimate of 1221.10 USD - I have no comments.

November Closet Additions

Another month. More stuff in the closet.
The story of my life.
Palm tree print dress by Sweet 10.70 USD,
since I did not try it on in the store, when I
finally did at home I was not too convinced.
So, I might keep it or just pass it on.
ASTR light pleather blue midi skirt 4.30 USD plus altering costs.
Burberry London skirt for 35.00 USD. Its big, but I fell in love with it. Plus
when I was in the dressing room trying it on, I was happy and excited, so
I guess I wanted to capture the feeling in a skirt...
The horse bit I told you about in a previous post, purchased via Etsy for
9.95 USD plus local shipping (4.00 USD) total 13.95 USD.
A gold tone chain and textile necklace for 2.13 USD
Polka dot Pop Cafe top for 10.70 USD and two piece salmon
tone culotte set for 20.00 USD purchased on line.
From a clothes swap with a friend I got two pairs of
Gap shorts which fit really good and a pair of
khaki/brown Tommy Hilfiger trousers.
Also a metal belt, I had wanted for a while and which
now I have to think on how to style.
Also from a "trade" I got this fabulous handmade necklace
from Entre Nudos, which has as a pendant a vintage chandelier
crystal - I cannot wait to wear this!

12 items in the closet, total 96.78 USD

October purchases

I did not realise I had brought in so
many stuff into my closet this month
until I did the purchase recap.
It started out with a pair of rain boots I'd wanted for
a while 7.48 USD
On to a pair of electric blue Charles Jourdan Paris Ruth heels
thrifted for 21.40 USD. I had seen these months ago and was
patiently waiting for them to go on sale… they finally did !
Also thrifted was this maxi polka dot skit by Gracie New York: 12.84 USD
it still needs some altering, but I have to say I loved wearing it.
The white button down by Gina Tricot for 6.40 USD, because well,
I love me a white button down.
A black Theory jacket finally entered my closet.
I had been wanting one for ages and I found this one
on super sale for 32.10 USD  -
sure beats the 300.00 USD retail price.
Another item was a houndstooth sleeveless jacket by
Classiques Entier also on sale for 21.40 USD.
Two skirts via Forever 21 for 24.00 USD each: extra large black and white
houndstooth print and a rust colour one, both boasting a vintage vibe.
White shirtdress, with a sleeve waist tie also from
Forever 21, 25.00 USD.
Also a pair of Aldo boat shoes for 26.74 USD
A Hermes Sequences scarf, thrift for 107.00 USD,
which I'll tell you more about in another post…
and finally accessories:
Bang earrings and necklace set, Purple and green
thread necklace and pearl and rhinestone hoop earrings
for 2.45 each.
October grand total of 315.70 USD.

In the closet: September purchases

I started September with new shoes.
I had a credit note from a shoe return last year
(the shoes fell apart after one wear) and I had
not used it. So, I did with this pair of light grey
Vince Camuto heels, paid 5.35 USD.

I went into the mall looking for a specific bag I had seen on a local blog.
The bag was sold out, but I picked up other things I had not planned to:

Spense Petite green drawstring dress on sale for 21.40 USD.
Black velvet wrap dress by Anne Klein, also on sale for 21.40 USD.
Black ruched polka dot dress by American Living on sale for 8.55 USD.
Finally a black cardigan with flower appliqués by INC
International Concepts also on sale, for 13.90 USD.

September Total 70.60 USD
