Like an Obituary

When I am writing a post about a garment I am wearing for one last time, it feels a little bit like an obituary.

However when it comes to obituaries, one usually focuses on the good. You will usually hear of how good this person was and an anecdote might even be thrown in.

In my case its more like an obituary where you are trashing the passed one and saying all those things you do not like about them: too short, too tight, around since 2010, worn just 4 times in 8 years.
It's like putting someone you never liked to rest.

Ha ha, that's a pretty apt comparison! Could you imagine if actual obits focused on the less pleasant things about a person?

It feels good to get those things that you don't love out of your closet, doesn't it? I love the sweatshirt, it's such a fun piece, with so many possibilities. A big hug to your dogs :)

HA! So true! I'm saying goodbye to a velvet top, and went on about the things I didn't like.

haha yes! I'm always so harsh when I do let things go, but it's good to be open and honest about why things no longer work for you clothes-wise I think! :)

Hope you are having a good week so far! After being so busy last week, I'm enjoying a relatively quieter week and looking forward to the Easter long weekend.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that before...lol..it surely is an interesting way of looking at it but totally get your point in terms of focusing on the good.

if you don't feel like wearing the skirt than saying good bye is the right call. However I love yu wearing shorter skirts - you have legs for it!

P.S. I LOVE your dog. Sorry I could leave without saying how much I wanted to cuddle. I know crazy dog lady stuff

Amen to that! I can only imagine what obituaries would sound like if people chose to focus on the negative...

When I saw the title of your post I was like, Oohoo I got to read this. Such a true metaphor you used, Lorena. I really hope you are talking about your skirt and not that cute red sweatshirt. Love the photos and location here.
