Prom dress

For some odd reason I thought about my prom dress today.
Black jumper dress - Polka dot shirt Available -
Black patent shoes Zara - Black bag Tous
It was a black taffeta mid length gown, off the
shoulders with a bow detail and a puffy skirt.
It was the most expensive dress I had ever owned,
the cost back in the day was two hundred dollars.
While I have no idea of its whereabouts I
remember being totally in love with it...

It was my first expensive dress by far.
After that my second most expensive was
my wedding dress.

How about you ?
What was your prom dress like ?

We don't do prom in Canada (or we didn't when I was in high school). The big event back then was grad (graduation) at the end of the year. My grad dress was purchased in Hawaii for $75, which in 1985 was a lot of money! I wore my mom's wedding dress, so paid nothing for it.

The most expensive dress I've ever purchased was my Desigual one with the eye on the back/rooster on the hip.

I can't remember the price of my prom dress! I remember it well though, it was beautiful. Blue, of course, and it had some beading detail on it and a really nice cross-over lace up back detail. It definitely wasn't as expensive as my wedding dress though, that's the most expensive item of clothing I own.

While I gave my prom dress to a friend of a friend to wear to her prom, I've still got my wedding dress. My mum still has hers too, although I don't know why we keep them! I certainly don't see us wearing them again - although we did get my mum's out to try on and take photos with after we bought mine, for a bit of fun.

You know, I didn't actually go to my prom, but had I been able to attend, I like to think my dress would have been vintage.

Thank you for sharing the lovely story of your own prom dress with us, as well as this chic, beautiful black dress that's currently in your closet.
