Ten minutes of happiness

Sometimes we are so overwhelmed that we
just do things without thinking.
Houndstooth print skirt Forever 21 - Black button down shirt -
Black patent heels Vince Camuto - Black hand bag red and green stripes
Yesterday, I had the worst of days.
In an unusual impulse I walked out of the office and
went directly to the mall.
Walked into a store that made me feel good and just shopped.
Shopped for things I did not need, but felt good wearing.
Because that was all I needed, to feel good, to have
those ten minutes of happiness...

I know what you mean! I hate days like that, they are no fun at all! Retail therapy definitely helps on those occasions, as long as you don't go overboard ;)

Dear I hope it was just because you treated yourself and wanted to feel even better. I mean I hope you were not feeling down.
The skirt you are wearing here is so adorable! I wish I had one myself!

Love that skirt on you Lorena!

I'm definitely guilty of retail therapy now and then too! Some days you just need a little pick-me-up! Unfortunately it usually means my wardrobe isn't as pulled together or well thought out as I'd like, but it's nice to have fun little pieces even if they don't create multiple outfits!

love the outfit -- you look great!

a friend and i were recently talking about finances and savings and such things. she asked me how much i saved, and i admitted that it was very little. she quickly determined that i shop/spend money when i am bored, when i am happy, when i am sad, when i want to celebrate, and/or when i want to forget. UGH!!!! not great! but i can think of worse vices. then again it was embarrassing that she could so quickly profile me and my habits. :[ since that conversation i feel like i have shopped a little bit less, but that is probably wishful thinking!

Isn't that the sad truth? Shopping for me always feels like possibilities. A dress for the perfect date night, a blazer to rock an interview in, heels that make me feel confident every where I go...Glad you got just what you needed.

Sweet Lorena, I'm very sorry that you had such a trying day. I've found this year in general to be rather heavily peppered with such (for me) and hope that 2016 brings calmer waters, so to speak, both our ways.

Big hugs,
♥ Jessica

*PS* That skirt is so fantastic!
