February Shopping

I forgot to mention that I have established a shopping budget for 2013.
Something I have never done -
With that in mind, here's what February shopping looked like:

A black trench from GAP on sale !

I had been hunting this trench down so 54.00 USD seemed reasonable.
To that amount I must add the tailoring.
I have very short arms and I need to get it to fit perfectly
otherwise I will look frumpy.

Another purchase was a pair of gold toned hoop earrings for 3.99 USD,
which I also needed as my previous pair lost color.

I needed a pair of gold tone studs and these get the job done for 2.49 USD

Then I walked into Zara, there was a sale -

Here I picked up a military green cardigan for 15.99 USD

Also following the military camo trend, a stretch belt for 9.99 USD

Also from Zara a pair of printed pajama like trousers for 39.99 USD.

Later on I picked up a basic white t shirt from Jones New York Sport
for 3.99 USD to replace one that got peed on by my new dog-
don't ask, I refuse to comment.

Then something amazing happened.
I found a Desigual skirt for 14.99 USD

I have coveted something, anything ! from this brand
but whenever I entered the stores I found items were a bit

So this find made me happy.

Then a black button down Da Moda for 10.99 USD.
While the buttons look cheap, I really liked the shirt.
I will most likely be replacing them.
A pair of Levis shorts for 9.99 USD also found its way into my closet.
I usually don´t purchase short shorts but I liked these.

Finally a Nine West suit, also on sale for 14.99 USD,
white skirt and black jacket.
My February purchases total 194.10 USD

February editing

As I continue to edit my closet, I realize that there are so many
things in drawers, that I tend to forget they exist.
This month, as usual, I wore all the below listed -
with a few exceptions that did not make it out the front door ;)
Wood bead bracelet, rarely worn.

Black patent belt, broken.

Beige flats by Zapatinho de Luxo, scuffed and then some.

Nine West grey and black peep toe flats.
I passed them on to a co worker after I realized
that I have worn them only 5 or 6 times in the
last 4 years - plus they hurt my heel.

Bass black sandals.
I bought these at least 3 or 4 years ago and
wore them about 10 times.
They are probably the most comfortable shoe I own.
Unfortunately for me, they began to fall apart -

Two pairs of Zip sandals, one in tan and the other in red also left.
I never wore them, the red were new - so I let them go.

Also in the bag is a fuchsia Fantazia top, worn about 5 times in
4 years, color had faded, it was a bit tight in the chest area and
the button kept popping open.

This white v neck t shirt, purchased mid 2011 had a short life in my closet.
It was worn only 3 times = cost per wear 1.78 USD
Since it was tight, it was only worn three times and as a layering piece.
It got peed on - soaked - so, I just don't want to have it around anymore.

Da Moda silver striped button down shirt.
I know that stripes are soo in this season, but
if I have worn it only twice in 4 years, what makes me
think I will get more wear out of it ?

Zara Trf top.
I got sooo many compliments when I wore this top.
Happens there is a hole in it.

Then comes my black Da Moda suit. It use to be my power suit.
But things change :)
Worn in the blog 3 times in almost 4 years, it got a lot of wear
in the past, which is the reason it got "shiny" due to constant ironing.
(yes, i know the label below said "no ironing" - I just saw it!)
I purchased another black suit, in a different style, that
should jump into action in case a black suit is needed.

Also finally leaving is my Natural Exchange printed pant set.
I devoted one post to it a few days ago and am happy
to see it depart.

My jeans were also examined these past few weeks.
At least some of them.
I realized that I held on to some of them, like the below
7 For All Mankind jeans - just for the brand.
The wide legged jeans looked bad on me, period.

I also let go of a pair of jogging pants from Provocative.
Because they are 100% polyester, they are too hot to
wear and the fit is quite clownish.
Purchased mid 2011, worn twice - total cost per wear was 3.73 USD.

My last item is a fuchsia handpainted skirt by Madrid.
I don´t wear it - that is just the truth.

Not bad for February: 19 items gone.

Pretty pleated

This is one of those outfits that came together without
putting too much thought into it.

Apt. 9 Top - grey pleated skirt - Moleca black suede shoes -
Black bag Roberto Cavalli

With the only difference that this one....

Actually worked !

Not ready

Drove like a taxi driver through traffic to get
to school early so I could get some homework done.

7 For All Mankind jeans - C'est Black sweater -
Roberto Cavalli black bag - Forever 21 necklace
Happens I did not read what I had to read to
know what was going to be discussed in class.

So, I sit down and begin reading.
Or at least try to.
However every single person that went by
decided they wanted to stop and chat.
So, I walked into class not being ready.

I am still trying to figure how this white button down shirt
made it from the give away bag
all the way to the bag of garments to pressed.

Da Moda trousers - Off Shore white button down shirt - Oscar De La Renta  brown sweater -
Fergalicious beige peep toe pumps - Black bag Roberto Cavalli - Michael Kors sunglasses
Somehow it ended up in my closet again -

The only explanation that I can give is that it ran away.
Little does it know that it's actually going back to the give away bag,
the maximum security give away bag-

As I got dressed in the morning,
in an outfit that has a military
elements and colors, I thought
"get ready for the comments".

Black pencil skirt Poetry - Beige/tan button down Tommy Hilfiger - Military green cardigan Zara
Black wedges Kenneth Cole Reaction - Black bag Roberto Cavalli - Camouflage belt Zara
Because, oh well it has happened before
with other outfits - I get comments that
I see no point in why people make them.

Luckily for me today, nobody noticed that I had been recruited :)
