Couldn't wait

When I put together this outfit at the beginning of the week,
I could not wait for it to be Thursday so I could wear it.
I thought I'd looks sharp in it and be the envy of the blogworld ;)
Happens that Thursday came and I am so disappointed.

Forever 21 Blue trousers - Nathalie B. white shirt - 52 weekend red cardigan - Black flats Vera Wang Lavender -
Nahui Ollin recycled paper bag

When putting it together, I should have tried it on.
Then, I would have noticed that that the pants are a bit tight,
so tucking the shirt would not be possible.
Since the cardigan is loose, there is just no shape and
nothing to pull this outfit together.

Yeah.... not exactly what I had in mind.

You made me laugh with this post about being the envy of the blog world, only because I can completely relate to thinking an outfit is going to look amazing in your head and it doesn't translate to your body. It happens to me all the time and I'm glad that it's not just me but sad you didn't get the joy you hoped for this morning. I still think you look great, as always.

Well, I like it! I love the coloured pants, and they don't look tight at all!

I agree with Sheila that the pants do NOT look tight. I wonder if you could have belted the blouse somehow.

Before I even read the commentary, I thought, what fabulous pants! But I have totally been there. I can think in my head, lie in bed after hitting the snooze button, creating outfits in my mind and then when I put them together they aren't quite what I envisioned. But Lorena, your not quite what you expected is still very chic! I like this look.

I agree with Terri, maybe a belted look would have finished it off - have you seen complex cardigans on Flickr - she always arocks a belted cardigan.
Great colours though.

omg. this happens to all of us! i love thinking through zillions of possible outfit combinations, and then when it is time to TRY THEM ON, many times they do not actually work! this morning i must have tried on nine different outfits! so annoying!

Ohh Lorena, you are being too harsh on yourself. First off this 3-color combo is one of my most favorite color combinations ever. Secondly, you have gorgeous pieces here: necklace, pants, blouse, purse. Thirdly, you are sooooo on trend with your color-blocking and your colored pants. One thing I would do differently next time is wear a shorter white button-down so that it creates more shape and shows off your curves better. Also, try a pair of cobalt heels next time, with this outfit. You will look like a million bucks, then. =))
