I got this dress as a present "from me, to me"
in December last year.
I called it an "early birthday present" as my birthday is in January.
The dress has been hanging there, waiting for a
special moment to wear it.
The special moment never came, so I wore it today
to go to work.
I know I have heard it over and over and have even
blogged about it before: saving things for later.
What is it that holds us back from wearing our "nice" things for
special moments ?
Could it be that we are doing it for others ?
Well, today I am wearing this dress for me.

Very pretty dress. That is really a great color for you. I hold onto things too sometimes, and when the moment never comes, end up wearing it for a not so special occasion.

and I too am guilty of saving things. I take it as a bad sign. When I was a kid and I got new shoes, I'd always ask to wear them out of the store. I want to feel that way about everything I buy.
My mom had her best dishes to use for special. It never came. She died never having used them. There is something sad about that. I am so glad you are wearing your pretty special dress and it looks great on you.

Yeah, I buy things from me to me as well! This dress looks fantastic on you. I'm a full believer that you should wear your "nice" things all the time instead of "saving them". Everyday is special if you think about it, so everyday deserves a good outfit!
