Just a Peek...

Here is a little peek at the Christmas decorations at home.
I am not close to being done but I thought it
would be fun to share the progress...
Note that suggestions are welcome !
A suggestion already considered was adding pink to my all black and white
Christmas tree, a colleague recommended it and said it would look
very Chanel-esque.
The guest bathroom got a visit from the
Gingerbread man.
This year I decided to display the birth of Jesus figures I purchased in Peru,
inside some glass pieces I originally bought for serving desserts.

I have other birth of Jesus figures that  include the visit of
the three wise men, these have been given as presents
from family, these are also on display.

Also out of the box are my dolls !
I take them out every year for Christmas.
I had dresses custom made for them and they sit in
my sofas through the entire month of December.
Below is Topo Gigio (he is an Italian character).
This Topo Gigio doll is probably around 30 years old,
he was a present from my Grandfather.
The dark hair doll, I have had her since I was 8 or 9.
Also in my living room sit my dear Cabbage Patch Kid doll,
which reminds me of the years I spent in Germany.
A Raggedy Ann doll my mom gave me a few years back
and a plastic black doll that my grandmother gave to me
when I was born.
She gave me several black dolls, as she says
*So you would not be a racist*

So there, you have a peek at my unfinished decorations.
I have to say that these dolls are precious to me.
They are a magnificent tie to my childhood and to Christmas and
bring back beautiful memories.

What things bring you good memories of past Christmas seasons ?

That's cute that your grandma was looking out for you like that.
My grandma is a bit of a racist, but she's 93 and there is nothing we can do about it.

Anyway ---
Your decorations look so cute, I love the nativity under glass, such a creative display!

Cute decorations and the dolls are adorable! I love sentimental objects that tie us to our youth. Thanks for sharing pictures of these special dolls.
