Two days until Friday

Yes, its finally
Wednesday !
Jeans Levis · Forever 21 cardigan · Shoes Payless · Scarf Zara · Tote Neiman Marcus

I have a lot of things going on in my head.
I am extremely upset to say the least at a family
situation, let me sum it up for you:
I have 2 younger brothers, one of them had a baby
a few months ago.
When the girl was born I was told I would be the
godmother for her baptism.
Last week I was told that the baptism is this Sunday.
Of course I am not the godmother now - nobody had to tell me that.
He never called (well he never does) and my mom
scanned the invitation hinting I would join them.
Seriously ? !

When I received the invitation scanned by my mom
I called the RSVP number - which was the girl's mother -
and she never picked up.
I left a message saying that I had received the invite via email from
my mom and that since it was such short notice I would not be
joining them but that I wished it all went well.
-
I am way beyond upset.
Would you be ?
How would you react to this ?

Okay first, I really like this outfit! I like the pattern mixing between the scarf and the striped top and I love the color combo of the scarf and jewelry.

Second, yes, I'd be upset too. I'd be disappointed. It would hurt my feelings and it would break my heart a little. But when you look at the big picture, what does that title do for your relationship with that child in the long run? Your relationship with that baby is what YOU make of it, not whether or not you're called "godmother". You'll have a super special bond with her anyway because you want to.

I would be upset to be honest. I felt upset when I wasnt invited to a hen party this year and I was to be a witness at the wedding, my feelings were so hurt. xx

You have every right to be upset, but I guess - for the sake of the little girl - you might try to discuss the situation with your brother, if he's ready to talk to you in a civil way, of course. If not, just let it go. It was really sweet of you to wish them well.

My mother always tells me I should be very happy not having any sisters or brothers. lol :)
And yet I have a cousin who wanted me to be her bridesmaid and then invited as a simple guest. :D Well at least she invited me at all. The most upset person at the wedding was the groomsmen, as we were supposed to be 'together'.
Anyways, you've got all rights to be upset for as long as you want to.

Wow... Crazy situation. I'd be pretty angry, too. I don't know if I'd skip the event all together, but if my sister didn't send me an invitation to such an important event, I'd definitely have to sit down and talk to her about it. Boo. I hope y'all can work things out.

On the lighter side, I love your stripes with the floral scarf.

That is absurd. Men!!
While you have every right to be pissed, I still think you should be the bigger person and not let it ruin your relationship with your brother, sister in-law and niece. Family is crazy, but you have to keep forgiving and loving them.

me encantó tu outfit!

love the outfit, especially the scarf.

family shit can be such a nightmare. argh! i have no great words of wisdom, but i would have been pissed or hurt by this. you seem like a lovely person to me, and this doesn't seem right.

i have a distant relative that has a daughter-in-law that is cruel cruEL CRUEL to her constantly. just awful. i won't give examples, but i think it is the hardest thing this woman has ever had to deal with. she loves her son and her grandkids and only wants the best for them, and then she has to deal with this AWFUL (and possibly mentally ill) bitch, and it is extremely difficult. ay yi yi. i am sure i wouldn't handle the same situation well. how can you? some situations don't seem to have great solutions available.

Aw, that sucks - that's just plain inconsiderate. I would let it go, though...you're going to be a great aunt, and you'll be there for that little one. That matters more than a title.

You look lovely today. :)
