a simple back velvet skirt, that's never worn
was the inspiration behind today's outfit.
Black velvet skirt My Michelle - White tshirt - Black jacket |
Today this black skirt makes its first and
last appearance on the blog.
I have not worn this ever in ver 5 years and it has somehow escaped previous closet cleanses. |
Black patent wedges Guess - Bag Venezia |
I find it a little costumey because of the light velvet fabric
and the tiny gold sequins.
Its midi length and it looks odd on me.
So, off goes my black velvet skirt.

It's so fun for holiday though! but I know what you mean, sometimes I have pieces like that too. They always seem to escape my cleanouts and then I finally wear them and realize I can't keep them

Well, I'm glad for you that you finally wore it and now it can go! I try to rotate evenly through my clothes, but it's hard to resist old favorites!
I think it's charming and fun and just a wee bit mysterious (which I adore in clothing). It has a glam boho vibe to it that really appeals to be, but if you're not feeling it when it comes to this piece, then it's always better to part ways and let it go live with someone for whom it may be perfect.

*PS* Fabulous nail polish/varnish hue.
Five years! That skirt had some staying power. But bejeweled crushed velvet has no place in anyone's closet.
i think it looks great on you Lorena! oh well hahaha
