A few months ago I picked up this colourful fabric with the intention of sewing a skirt for myself. |
Black short sleeve button down - Skirt - Red shoes Biviel - Purple bag Coach |
It took me a while, as not only have I never taken
a sewing class, but I did it without any patterns.
While I can only look at the imperfections:
high waisted, pleats are not the same size,
finish is poor and so on - I have to admit that
I am quite proud that I sewed it on my own.
The best part of it all was getting compliments and humbly answering
"It's not perfect, but I made it myself".

It's right that you got a lot of compliments on it, it's very pretty, well done! I'd never be able to make anything that good!

You did an excellent job Lorena!
te quedó increíble!!! la verdad parece que la compraste de tan bien hecha!
Impressive! You'll have to show me how you did that. And the fabric is pretty.
What utterly awesome skirt!!! I adore the bold colours and pattern. Really fun, funky, awesome outfit, dear gal!

It's beautiful! I can see why when you saw that fabric, you knew it had to become this skirt. Plus, pleats are really tough! I hate pleats!
And don't be so humble, if someone tells you they love your skirt, you should proudly reply "Thanks, I made it!" and then they will be even more impressed.
