Old Television

This was on it's way to the trash.
It's a television made by Magnavox.
It's not working and it is used as a table - that cannot carry
much weight because it's not very stable.

Red Old navy jeans - I Heart Ronson peacock print blouse - black tank - Michael Kors black patent flats

This was my h's television while growing up, it was black and white !
His mom was going to throw it away, I asked her to
please hold it until we had a bigger place.

My H grew up in the 70's so I am guessing it's from that era.
I have not found any info online to know what year it is actually from.
It's falling apart and the back is exposed...

But, I like it.
I think that the idea behind anything you have is because you like it.
Not because it's new, cheap, expensive, vintage -
the idea is that YOU like it and enjoy seeing it around.

Is there anything in particular that you enjoy seeing around
your home ?

Lorena, I love that old TV. It brings back lots of fun memories. My favorite "old" thing is a poster from WWI that has my grandfather's name on the roster of soldiers.

I love that old tvs were actually meant to look like pieces of furniture and didn't overtake entire rooms the way tvs do today.

I love that TV. And it's older than you think. It couldn't have been made any later than the 1960's; TVs in the Seventies looked more modern.

I relish old technology. I'm looking for an old rotary-dial telephone just to put in my living room as sculpture.

I'm almost positive that my grandparents had that exact TV while I was growing up!!!! Wow, that brings back memories.

As for things that I enjoy around my home, we have an interesting conversation piece. The church that my grandparents attend is well over 100 years old. When I was a child, they had those old fashioned pews. You know the ones - the are straight backed and terribly uncomfortable. When the church remodeled about 10 or 15 years ago, they saved some of the pews. About 5 years ago, we were able to get one of them, and my husband turned it into a shelf. It's a fun piece.
