Certain garments

Cherry Blossom print skirt Jolly Chic - Fuchsia vintage blouse - Black patent heels Zara - Black satchel Jules Rebecca Minkoff
We all have those certain garments that photograph well, but we feel unconfident in, this is one of them. The cherry blossom print skirt was an online purchase that required massive altering at the waist and in length. This might be my fourth wear and even though it gets compliments I am beginning to wonder if its a keeper. It's very girly and even a bit costume like but there is a certain appeal that makes me want to hold on to it...

I really know such garments, dear Lorena! But please keep this wonderful skirt, I like it so much!

I LOVE that skirt - I am always, always on the hunt for fit/flare skirts because they are so immensely flattering on. Yes, they are a little on the girly side, but can be "toughened up" with some black leather or studded accessories.

You'll regret it if you get rid of it! (or send it to me, ha ha!).

I have a couple of pieces like that - I get a lot of compliments on them but I just don't feel totally at ease in them. For what it's worth, that skirt is truly stunning.

I have pieces like this too and I keep them in the hopes that I'll finally agree with everyone else that says its fab. Haha. I do love that skirt though!! Such a pretty print

I think we all have items that we get so many compliments on but somehow they just don't feel like they are suited to you! Love the skirt you are wearing- looks lovely!

¡Hola, Lorena!

Even though I really love it and I think it looks fab with the pink top, if you don't feel comfortable in it then don't keep it!

I completely get that - sometimes statement pieces draw too much attention and you wonder if they are 'you' enough to feel confident in. But I do love this look, that bright pink blouse looks so pretty on you!

I've gotten rid of a few pieces like that - the ones that get compliments aren't always the easiest or most practical or comfortable to wear, and right now I'd prefer comfort over anything! I do sometimes regret getting rid of them though now and then I think of them!

Your skirt is beautiful, I can see why it would get lots of compliments :)

Regarding your latest comment on my blog (sorry it's taken me a while to respond!) I'm definitely going back to work, still haven't changed my estimated return date. I'm enjoying the stay at home lifestyle a little longer before I have to return! We get a year's leave and we are allowed to extend that for another 12 months although if a company really wants or needs you back they can decline to grant you the extension.

Hope you're having a wonderful week :)

I know how you feel. I have a flared skirt like that. It looked great in the catalog but I'm second guessing it on me. I feel the skirt is taking me over. LOL

I think it is a gorgeous skirt! Maybe slightly less girly with a black tank and flats (or combat boots - HA).
