Many months after I received this striped
vintage set, I am finally wearing it.
When I received it as a hand me down from
my great aunt, I automatically thought about
passing it on to someone else as the skirt was too
long and the shirt was too big.

Then I decided I would give it a shot.
Took it to the seamstress, had the skirt shortened
and the blouse altered.
I am not too sold on the results but I think I
just have to style it differently...
How would you wear it ?

I think it looks really cute! I love the color and the fact that the stripes are different form any that I've seen.

pretty cute!!! i might make it into separates -- a blouse and a skirt!
and thank you so much for your comment/your perspective. i am forever looking for a little guidance in life! :)
It's a bold piece! I'd probably style them as separates, and knot the blouse over a navy skirt, or a white one...
Chic on the Cheap
I might have the sleeves on the blouse shortened a little too.
I like it as is. :)

That is a lovely set, what a nice hand me down. I think the pieces look lovely together, they would be fantastic as separates too! :)
Away From Blue
Amazing outfit!!, i love the bag !

Hola, muy guapa, me encanta el vestido de rayas
Such a lovely, vibrant set! I think I'd split the pieces up and wear them separately. For the skirt, I'm thinking a navy blue, chocolate brown, or turquoise top might be really nice. The shirt be inclined to try try with denim on the bottom, or perhaps fitted black pants and a denim blazer. I just really see it working well with denim. :)

I think you styled it really well. It looks like a dress and a lot like a vintage, retro piece from the 60s or the 70s. I would wear the Blouse with a Navy Pencil Skirt, or the Skirt with a Simple but Classic White Blouse. I would wear them together with White Pumps with Wide Heels and maybe a long Pearl Necklace. =) Hope these help.
