My hot pink shoes

On a work trip to Brazil in April 2011 I picked up a pair of hot
pink shoes by a local brand called Zapatinho de Luxo.
I loved the bright color, it reminded me of Barbie, they were comfy.

I wore these beauties 7 times. Exactly 7 times and then THIS happened:

Needless to say, I was really, really upset.
These shoes were about 50.00 USD, which may not seem like a lot to you,
but I expect 50.00 USD shoes to last a bit more.
We're talking about 7.00 USD per wear.
So I decided to try covering the cracked part with a ribbon.

After trying several ribbons I chose a colorful striped one that came with a GAP bag.
Since I had an idea of what I wanted but not the skills,
I just took it to the cobbler.

And now I have new shoes.

That's ashame they cracked! It might have been a pre-existing problem. The cobbler did an excellent job! Wear ON!

Wow.....how creative! I would be very upset too, if my shoes cracked, but you certainly make the best of the situation!

They look even cuter now. The patent leather & grossgrain ribbon makes them more fun. Adorable Barbie shoes, indeed. You had a great idea about these. ;-)
