Packing regrets

I am usually very proud of the fact that I pack
lightly for work related travel.

Grey Point Zero suit - Black turtle neck sweater Zara - Jessica Simpson animal print shoes - Michael Kors black bag

The secret is simple, I usually visit 3 countries per trip
which means I can wear the same basic pieces over and over with
different accessories - Jane's wardrobe capsules have taught me well :)

Never before had I a packing regret, until now - that is.
It's this grey suit. Because of the fabric and the fact that it's
winter in South America I thought it would be a good idea to pack it.
The suit is almost ten years old and it's never been worn on the blog -
which means that in the last three years I have never worn it... yet I packed it.
Sure I tried it on - and I thought it worked at the moment.
Not so now.

But.... I'll just have to make the best of it.

that is no good at all! i can't imagine trying to deal with an ill fitting outfit while traveling.

Guess you will just have to go shopping :)

Perhaps you should use this as an excuse to shop! Now that you mention it, I can't recall the last time I wore either of my suits!

I think it looks good! A good suit is a classic piece after all!

Sorry if you feel it's no god, not fun when you are travelling light and you don't like one of your options!

it's always challenging pack for a business trip, especially if you visit different countries. like now in europe, in italy is boiling hot, in germany (very close to us) has been pouring rain and it's like autumn!

packing for trips is so difficult! i am NOT a light packer! i tend to bring too much, as too little is the worse option. ugh! but even when i am careful and try things on in advance, sometimes i just don't FEEL like wearing the clothes i have. lol. i can be so picky and so moody!

i hope you have a great weekend!

You really are a fantastic packer. And 3 countries in one trip...you must have a fascinating job!

It isn't so bad! Just the sleeves seem a little large, but the color is good and I like the trousers. Maybe a nice color underneath would be better?

I always spend way too much time on packing, and then regret what I brought along..that's the tough part- being stuck with only what is in your suitcase! In any case, I think the gray suit looks beautiful on you! You worked it in the pictures at least :)

I think accessories can definitely help the suit -- but at least it's a good excuse to buy a new outfit :)

Lorena, why are you being too hard on this suit? It is a classic suit in a classic color and shape. The only thing I would change is hem/shorten those sleeves a little. Also next time try red or turquoise underneath it and I swear you will love this suit 10 times more.

I also think a business trip during cold climates calls for at least one pant-suit. I know how you feel though since I own 5 pant-suits and haven't worn any in almost 2 years. =(
