A few weeks ago a friend and I agreed to do a closet intervention for a someone we know. She is a Doctor who wears many hats: university professor, mother, doctor for the public and private sector amongst others.
She had mentioned that she needed help and we decided make an appointment and jump in.
While I will not be sharing before and after pictures, I can say that when we opened the closet doors we were in awe. Not only was it overflowing but there were plastic bags on the floor, full of new clothes with tags. Plastic bins with shoes, papers and more papers. It was much more than we could have expected.
Note that prior to us showing up, she had already filled 3 large trash bags with clothes and donated them.
By the end of that afternoon, we produced over 6 large trash bags with bags, shoes, clothes and belts plus 3 bags of trash.
She asked my friend and I if we wanted anything from her edits. My friend took a few dresses and I kept the bright trousers and yellow blouse I am wearing today.

She's due for the second part of the closet intervention session, which is yet to be scheduled.

Have you had a closet intervention?

I am loving this colourful outfit on you! The scarf ties it all together so nicely and it's so cheerful! One of my favourites.

It's amazing you were able to make such a difference with her wardrobe, well done! :)

I did a wardrobe detox a few years ago but haven't done much since then to keep my wardrobe in check other than my usual occasional sweep throughs for things to donate.

Those are the most awesome colour. I love this outfit! I'm feeling another big purge coming on after this season. I tend to them every couple of years, to make sure my style is staying fresh and interesting to me. I tend to hang onto things that are sentimental to me.
