Do you often run into people you have not seen in ages?  When you say hi to someone and tell them where you know them from and they look at you with a blank face what do you do?
The other day I saw someone I had not seen in at least 15 years. I had contact with this person in college where we were in class together and then years later we indirectly worked together.
When we were introduced, I candidly said to we know each other from college and then as I saw the blank face I added and we worked with this person and this brand. Long blank stare. I did not insist. Then colleagues I was with continued to chat and this person did not even look at me.
What would you have done? What do you think of this?

Wow, what an awkward conversation (or lack thereof)! That sounds very rude to me - I would have at least said, "I'm so sorry, I honestly don't remember you."

Love the Pink Tartan blouse, and these Red Valentino trousers look amazing on you!

How strange! If I didn't remember I probably would have apologized and said I am drawing a blank right now (and maybe had a white lie, and said No wonder you look so familiar!). I think not saying anything is a bit rude. Love your pretty blouse!

Honestly, I'm usually the person with the blank stare, trying to pretend I do not have the blank stare. When I went into Bed Bath and Beyond the woman at the register recognized me from a job where she worked with me for only ONE WEEK over a decade ago. Then I saw her again a couple weeks later only she was working at TJMaxx. At least I recognized her the second time?

I had someone come up to me the other day and I knew their face was familiar but I couldn't place it - I just froze and they thought I was very rude, as I couldn't do much more than shrug and say I couldn't remember them. I'm not good at thinking up things on the spur of the moment. I've tried to make it up by making an extra effort to be friendly and use their name often, but I think they are still a bit put off by how long it took me to remember them!

On a ncier note, I like that printed top :)
