The Ikea feeling

I don't know about you. But every.single.time. I walk into IKEA
I get the same feeling: I want to start from scratch at home.
Black leggings Bershka - White shirt Calvin Klein - Black patent flats Viascar
Meaning I want to replace all the furniture,
sheets, kitchen utensils, lamps.. all.
I've been having that same "Ikea feeling" with my closet.
Bag Carolina Herrera
I cannot find what to wear, don't like what I have.
I am questioning everything which is making my
process of chosing what to wear really tedious.

I totally get that feeling on both fronts. I'm more like that with antique shops and my decor, but no matter the source, I think it's normal and healthy to feel like that at times. It often means we're looking for change elsewhere in our lives and just directing through (seemingly) easier to renovate areas like our living room or overstuffed closet (though sometimes, of course, those things do need some work for sure).

Fabulous CH bag! That looks like it's big enough to work as an overnight bag, if so desired.

I love Ikea styling but hate the more and more cheap quality. Still some great things to find.On the closet front, when I feel like you do I grab bif bags and stuff all clothes/accessories I don't want anymore and then bring in the attic. This way i simplify and I'm left with a basic core wardrobe that speaks to me at the moment. I then add a few accessories or something else to tie my style together. I hope you get the inspiration you need.

I used to have such feeling for Ikea and was very much surprised when it didn't happen last time I walked in there. I guess I've just made a terrible mistake with making my home perfect (despite tiny bits I went to change there like new coffee table to replace the old and chair for my office).
i think such times are natural and they come and go. Normally in such situations I just dig into the closet and start having new feelings towards the long lost loves...

Put a capsule wardrobe together out of only things that you love - toss anything that you don't wear or just keep avoiding. Making a clean sweep can be hugely liberating.

I am also a fan of the white top!

I like that necklace against the white top :)

Sometimes I want to start over with my wardrobe too, I know the feeling you mean. I like everything in my wardrobe (or I wouldn't have bought it!) but often think it's just a mish-mash of everything and that if I was starting over I'd do it differently!

I used to love to watch "what not to wear" and I always wondered, if I had to start from scratch, would I do better, or would I fall into the traps of just buying similar things?
