One garment's story

You buy a top because you like the color, it's on trend...
 or whatever the reason.

Black high waisted trousers BCX - White ruffle shirt Off Shore -
Red burgundy heel loafers Me Too
Tous black bag

You take it home, hang it in the closet and a few days later you wear it.
You wear it once, you wear it twice, maybe even three times.
Then it's back in the closet.
You see it every time you pick out the top right next to it.
Time goes by and it hangs unworn for almost 3 years...

One day you decide to purge that section of your closet: the sleeveless tops.
You pull it out, it looks almost new -
well it kind of is because it has not been worn that much.
You are about to put it in the bag for items to be given away but,
you decide to wear it again, just for kicks.
You get compliments all day:
from your boss, your grandmother, your aunt, your neighbor..

So, do you give it away or do you keep it ?

fashion tends to move faster than people's minds. The only thing that matters is how much you like it, and are willing to wear it again.

Keep it! I've seen this happen, which is part of why I like to thrift my clothing. Often by the time, the general public is prepared to accept a is actually dated in the eyes of people who follow such things.

Love the red shoes with your black and white outfit!

I say keep the top! That's why I always wear things one more time before I donate them, in case I fall back in love with it. If you like it, keep it, no matter what trends say :)

I say you keep it and try to wear it a few more times. I agree with what Terri said too, sometimes I think a trend is over just because I read so many blogs, not that I think I personally am ahead of the curve, but I know I've seen things a lot longer than some other people have.

First of all you lok so elegant in this Black & White Outfit. Black bottoms and white button-downs are always a fashion-forward, chic look. Amazing belt & red pumps, too. Wish I could see the shoes better!

As far as the top goes YOU DEFINITELY KEEP IT. Especially since during those 3 years you have stared at it enough and a part of you doesn't want to let it go. After all those compliments too, it was meant to be!! =)
