Packing with purpose

Packing for traveling is a process and a learning experience.
Where you are going, how many days, what you will be doing.
The weather, how big can the suitcase you take be..
The dreadful idea of overpacking or even worst:
not taking with you what you need.
Jeans Zara - Black sweater Benetton - Rodier vintage scarf - Lanvin orange bag
I have to say that I'm getting good at it. Using up about 98% of all packed
for this last trip, I've learned to pack with a purpose.

Have to admit one of my goals when packing is to
 never be that shabby
underdressed tourist, yet some days I was...

Packing always throws me into a total tizzy - I'm always so worried I'll forget something!

Packing can be such a challenge--I don't like to over pack, yet I hate that feeling of forgetting something! I love this look--that scarf is so chic!

You do so well with your packing - I almost always overpack!

And none of the pics I've seen look shabby and underdressed! :)

I always vow not to be "that" tourist - I try to look classy, but still be comfortable. I am big on the capsule wardrobes. You've been looking awesome!

Those are some good packing goals. I always over pack. Packing is no easy feat, especially when you've got a closet as expansive as I imagine yours to be.

I bet you're good at packing Lorena! You have to be, because you travel so. You should put together a tutorial for us :D Would love to hear your tips.

¡Hola, Lorena! Como siempre, me encanta que nos traigas looks tan inspiradores, me parecen muy ponibles a la par que estilosos. ¡Y menudo bolso más bonito!

I bet you are very good at it! I am not! But I get by.

The absolute worst is when the airline loses your luggage. That's why many times I prefer to drive if at all possible -- you can take so much more and rest easy that it won't be lost!

Packing the right amount of clothing is something you learn with time. I know it took me a couple of years to get it right!

Having recently returned from twelve days of traveling, this post is all the more relatable. I wouldn't say I epicly over pack in general, but I've never been accused of under packing either. It can be a tricky balance to nail and one that, I find, is made trickier in certain seasons. I'm sure things are even more of a challenge on this front for those of us who are fashion bloggers. Ultimately though, it's about the destination and when I find myself wondering if I really need a 7th sweater or a 3rd black skirt, I reflect on that and (usually) calmly close the suitcase and go make sure that the my camera battery is fully charged to capture some memories from the road.
