"It was a gift"

I've been receiving items in my closet.

Wether it's late birthday gift like this white
lace dress or
these two beautiful gowns in two sizes larger than I wear -
but that have already been taken to the seamstress for
proper fitting...
A leather and metal cuff, terrier silver earrings or zirconia on nylon
necklace from Agatha.
Two Swarovski like bracelet and necklace and
gorgeous silver and repurposed crystal chandelier bead
earrings that were hand made by a friend.
Oh and this exquisite Dolce & Gabbanna hair comb.
Items just seem to continue to enter my closet…
even when I don't purchase them !

August Closet Edits

I am amazed at how many things are being edited from
my closet.. yet the space is still tight.
I started off with this grey cardigan from H&M (sold at the flea market for 2.50 USD)
followed by a Poof! striped tshirt. The first I rarely wore and the second
got so much wear it was in piled to point of no return.

A black skirt from Mossimo which I considered
had gotten too short for me to wear comfortably.
Blue Galeno eyelet dress (sold at the flea market for 2.00 USD) which
was a bit faded for my taste and my white Holy Codi Studio
lace dress which was too short.
A formal dress by Jessica McClintock, never worn in the last 6 years
and my dark blue flapper dress from H&M (sold at the flea market 12.00 USD).
Tommy Hilfiger beige button down (sold at the flea market 6.00 USD) and
Tommy Hilfiger striped sweater (sold at the flea market 5.00 USD).
Navy striped top from Polo Ralph Lauren (sold at the flea market 7.00 USD)
and a two piece vintage set purchased in Argentina, worn
twice - it was too tight ! (sold at the flea market 15.00 USD).
A grey cold shoulder dress which I purchased on line and never wore as
it was to big (sold at the flea market 6.00 USD) and my red stripe button down shirt
from Polo Ralph Lauren also never worn (sold at the flea market 15.00 USD).
Three scarves, most with little imperfections: all sold at the flea market for 1.00 USD each .
A red beaded necklace that I never wore (sold at the flea market) and
a brown sequined stretch belt that I had not worn in a while.
Two leather belts with cool buckles that I never wore
(sold at the flea market)
A mini Prada like bow bag (sold at the flea market 5.00 USD) and Hello Kitty bag,
both with tags, never worn.
A black corduroy bag from Guess that I never wore and
and a navy patent bag from Zara - the pvc began to peel off.
Two Gap hair scarves that I bought and never
wore… (sold at the flea market)

Twenty six pieces in August.

How are your closet edits coming along ?

August purchases

I went to the old part of the city
a few weekends ago to buy material for
an activity -
After I acquired the material, I
thought I'd check a few stores..

I came home with a JC Penney light blue 100% cotton
gingham shirt for on sale only 8.54 USD and a navy
blue tartan and roses cropped top by En Creme for 4.27 USD
.
Also two Pima cotton tshirts by Charter Club, on sale for 4.25 each.
Also two dresses: one turquoise shift dress without
brand tag on sale for 5.35 USD and neoprene blue kimono
dress by Nasty Gal for 8.55 USD.
The neoprene dress is a tricky number however with some
altering, it should look fabulous.
A sky blue top with bows that tie at the sleeves from
Forever 21 for 15.00 USD and a pair of  chambray shorts for 19.15 USD.
I also repurchased this striped Worthington skirt on ebay
for 15.00 USD. It's a story I'll tell you about later.

Total 84.36 USD

A little red

Today, two items that
have been stashed away for
a while make a comeback.
Polka dot trousers Worthington - White and black top Forever 21
One of them is this black and white top, the
other, the red plastic flower necklace.
Red flats Stradivarius - Beware of Sharks bag Kate Spade

I chose red, because a little red
never hurt anyone.

Believe in magic

You can never be too grown up for a good
magic show, well at least I am not.
Black trousers Zara - Black one shoulder top Alice + Olivia -
Zebra heels Bershka - Mustard clutch Pull & Bear
I am fascinated by all magic tricks
and even though I am a google search away
from finding out how they are mastered,
I chose to believe.
Believe in magic.

Three stripes

From the depths of the closet comes
this colour block dress, which as you can
imagine has not been worn in a while.
Colour block dress Chadwicks  - Striped flats Nine West - Beware of Shark tote Kate Spade
I chose to pair it with two other items that have
horizontal stripes, in my constant attempt to
master the art of pattern mixing.
I think it worked.

Just 3 more

I have three more weeks to go
and then it will be my last semester of school.
NYDJ Blue - Gingham JCP Button down shirt - Striped flats Nine West -
Beware of Sharks tote Kate Spade - Teal sunglasses Kenneth Cole Reaction
I will then have more resources and time
to do other things I like.
-
Or so I say...

Thoughts of a blogger

Have you ever had one or several posts that
have a lot of views but no comments ?
Pink dress Valentino - Nude heels Sam Edelman - Blue bag Coach
This happened recently on a post from a few days ago
and I could only wonder, as one of the things
I love about blogging is the interaction.
What makes you comment or not ?
