Butterflies

I've always been drawn to butterflies.

Brown butterfly tshirt Da Moda - Gap jeans - Green flats Vitoria Ferreira
Teal sunglasses Kenneth Cole Reaction
A few years back anything I saw with a butterfly on it,
I'd automatically buy.

Bug hair barrette gift from over 20 years ago - Crocheted earrings self made

That's how this butterfly top came into my closet years ago and I just
realised its been worn once in five years, that "once" is today.

May thrift

May was a very unusual month in regards to shopping.
First of all, I only purchased two items, second, they
were actually thrifted...

The items were a Camille La Vie formal dress for 32.10 USD which I
am planning to wear for an upcoming August wedding and a black
pair of sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti for 26.75 USD.

A May purchase total of 58.85 USD.

May: Top Edition

May was all about get rid of those unwanted and unworn tops.

These did not make the cut: White Izod polo shirt, vintage printed top,
Odds n evens gold tone blouse, Miss Cocoa black and white print
bow blouse, brown sleeveless sweater Oscar de la Renta.

Also gone are a purple animal print one shoulder by Fantasia and a soccer Argentinian fan tshirt.
(it's not even my team…)

Heading to the thrift store are also a black rhinestone top by
Ponny Tail and a light blue eyelet jacket by Liz Claiborne.

Blue button down, flower print by Tommy Hilfiger and a brown
sequinned tshirt from Forever 21.

Forever 21 orange button down shirt, black and white Emporium button down.

Light yellow top from St. Barth's and white polo shirt from Liz Claiborne.

Grey top Go International and Andrew & Co light blue top.

Striped top by Cha Cha Vente and Grey long sleeve tshirt One Step Up.

Lorell button down shirt and black lace top My Michelle.

The little flower print skirt by Tracy Evans.

A grey and black dress, Democracy.

This is what my blouse, top, tank area looked like after
the edit, it's still a little tight.

Total edit of 21 tops, total 23 items.

When was the last time you edited your closet ?

Black rose

Today I thought I would add a forgotten
accessory to my lapel.

Black polka dot trousers Worthington - White blazer Suzie Shier
A black pearl and rose pin from a few years ago.

Black patent shoes Zara - Black sweater Ç
Surprisingly I received really nice comments on it.

Someone actually asked if these
"were back" … I have no idea.

Warm again

Back home where the weather is always warm.

Pink neon trousers H&M - Grey top Zara - Grey flats Zara
Straight to school and then work.

Textile pin from Argentina
Its always good to be back, even if its busy.
Happy Friday !!

The Black Cape

Took my black cape to Bogota.
This piece proves to be versatile and most
important does the job of keeping me warm,
even my hands.
Jeans Zara - Black cape

Unfortunately for me, its a garment I
can only wear when I travel because where
I live I don't need to stay warm…
because it always is.

Red velvet

On this trip I chose to pack
a red velvet jacket I had not worn in years.

Red velvet jacket Covington - Black trousers - Black patent heels Vince Camuto
As much as I love the garment,
it served its purpose: to keep me warm.

However, I am not sure if its a keeper...

Blue suit in Bogota

Nothing better than cool weather to inspire
me to wear a suit.

Blue pant suit New York & Company - Burgundy heeled loafers
Working in Bogota always proves to be a challenge
weather wise as its usually cold in the mornings
but the sun is out baking you at noon.

Extra large pearl bracelet Parfois

The suit proved to be the right choice.

When was the last time you wore a suit ?

Arriving Bogota

Early flight and in Bogota by noon.

Jeans Zara - Black bow sweater MNG Mango
I prefer morning flights.

Black flats Vera Wang Lavender
I chose something comfortable and of course dark colours,
because you really want to avoid wearing anything white when you travel.

My trips to Bogota are always positive, so I am really
looking forward to this visit.

Vintage Gifts

My super fashionable great aunt was in town a few weeks ago.
She's my Fairy-Godmother of vintage and always surprises me
with something spectacular from her own collection.

This time around she gave me gorgeous vintage Matisse
necklace and earring set.
Its what seems to be cooper and green enamel.

I had not seen anything like it...

I was smitten by the second piece: a garnet brooch.

While its missing a garnet, it really stands out.

I cannot wait to wear these.

Top 18: Blue

Last week I took all of my tops out of my closet.
I did not dare to count, but as I arranged them
back into the cramped space I chose to leave
some of them out.

Jeans Zara - Black bow shoes Melissa - Blue top Andrew & Co. - Guatemala headband

This blue top was one of them, worn three times in six years.
The elastics have stretched …

I chose to wear it to a walking tour of the old part of the city.

Its no longer "me" so, off it goes.
-.-
Here is how it was worn before..
