Wedgwood

Every now and then when I browse magazines I realise that when
I was in kindergarten I was not taught all of the existing colours.

Flipping through the InStyle May 2013 issue I came across
a colour called Wedgwood, which in my head looks a lot like periwinkle.

Periwinkle cut top Forever 21 - Beige Insight trousers - Innovativi wedges
The word comes from the blue Wedgwood- color of the well known
18th century pottery (there's also a green Wedgwood) and it was a colour
seen much in the 1980s - apparently it's been trying to make a comeback...

Vintage pearl collar

Well whatever the origin of this colour it seemed like a good idea to
pair it with beige as the magazine indicated...

and that's how today's outfit came together.

It's such a pretty color, but I didn't realize a color called "wedgewood" existed. But shoot, I've been pretty much calling every bright blue "cobalt." ;o)

I love, love, that blouse with the unique collar!! The colors look fabulous together - you look like a model from a magazine in this - I agree with you though about being periwinkle as a matter of fact- never really heard of wedgewood....

I've never been super crazy about wedgewood (the pottery) but i might be able to get behind wearing that shade of blue...

I really like the blue and beige together!

I swear they just make up new names for the same colours over and over, haha! I would have called that periwinkle too :)

Seriously gorgeous! Wedgwood is one of my favourite blues of all time. I've always wanted some Wedgwood to display in my house, but moreover, would give my favourite vintage dress to have a pair (in my size) of the exceedingly rare Wedgwood high heels that were made in the 1950s (they're massive collectors items and usually sell for at least several hundred dollars these days).

what a beautiful color! i never heard that name before!

i was car shopping recently and was rather dismayed at the car color selection. of all the colors in the world, all they can paint cars with are white, black, grey, red, blue and tan?!?!?!? drives me crazy.

I love this beautiful pastel blue. Wedgewood really? It looks between a Sky Blue & a Periwinkle Color to me. I really love that Top, what an unique neckline/collar. The necklace is gorgeous and it looks like part of the blouse. =)
