Turquoise fish

I imagined this shirt in my head for months.
First, I bought the fish part which is hand embroidered
by one of our local indians the kunas or gunas.
Blue trousers Forever 21 - Turquoise fish shirt - Seychelles green flats
Then I hunted down printed cotton fabric in similar colors
and the ribbon.

It took about 7 months and about 80.00 USD to get these three things
but, the most important was missing: a good dressmaker.

Luckily for me, my grandmother's 92 year old friend sews beautifully
and she made the shirt for me, with only one condition: I could not tell
anyone that she had made it for me, as she is long retired and does not sew anymore.
I could not keep the secret.

That is such a nice top! So good that you were able to gather all the pieces yourself and get a family friend to make it. A very special piece :)

She does absolutely lovely work! This shirt is so lively, fun and summery - not to mention the serene blue palette looks amazing with your brunette locks.

You must start sewing for yourself! You've got such a great eye for putting things together. I love this shirt and this story.
