Two Points of View

I had seconds and third thoughts before wearing this black jumper dress.

Was it costumey ? Was it ill fitting ?

It had been so long since I wore it  last...
In fact that it has not been worn in the last 4 years.

Black jumper dress no brand - White button down shirt Antila Femme - Daniblack black shoes - Vintage patent bag

Then two things happened.
I was exposed to two age groups....
One is my 83 year old grandmother who said
that my dress reminded her of the dress jumpers she wore long before she even got married.

Then a 25ish girl at work said I looked like I was going to school -
I guess she meant that I looked like I was wearing a school uniform.

So, now I'd like to have your point of view...

What do you think ?
Should I keep this dress  ?

I like it. It has youthful insouciance. You look very cute in it.

I really like the dress actually! if you're not sure about it though, probably best if it goes and makes space for a black dress you will love instead :)

I think the dress is lovely - such a good shape and cut. Maybe it's the white blouse that gives it the school look. What about a drapier blouse with some colour? A coloured belt? Can you remove the buttons?

For sure! It's so sweet, charming, and beautiful - not costumy at all. A woman needs a few especially girls pieces in her wardrobe, if you ask me, and this delightful frock fits that bill wonderfully (with veering into twee territory one iota, thanks to it's clean lines and dark colour).

I like the dress, it fits you well. Sometimes there are just items that evoke particular looks and memories for people. This is one of them. But it is still a keeper!
