This week I am doing the "Check your label series"
in order to find out where things I use are made and see
how much we depend on the world !
Not just clothing, but also things we use in our everyday activities
and food...

Got to work and ate Kraft crackers made in Nicaragua.
Bath products included a hair mask made in Brazil and a
soap that I have no idea where it came from.
Nail products made in U.S.A
A stainless steel firefly pendant that has no origin stamped on it,
but the necklace reads "Made in Italy".
Finally shoes that have no markings on them but that if
I recall correctly the box said "Made in China".
SO, how about you ?

ReplyDeleteToday, it's mostly made far away -- tee shirt in Indonesia, Jeans in Taiwan, shoes in China. You have got me thinking about this a lot, Lorena!
ReplyDeleteIt's freezing in my office today, so I looked at my denim jacket (since I am wearing it. It's made in the USA! It's from Forever 21 so I was a little surprised!
ReplyDeleteThis series made me think of a book I read called "Made in China" It's a really great book! The woman who wrote it put a purchasing ban on anything made in China for her and her family for a whole year. It was very interesting but funny too! Heather
I like to make a point to buy things made in the USA - especially any makeup/bath products. I don't want soap from China. No offense China.

I hope to do this tomorrow. I am not sure if I can do the cosmetics, but I will at least check the labels on all my clothes.

I think it's an interesting concept to look at where your things are coming from. Love how your green cardigan brightens up the blues. Also you have such a pretty smile!
